First of all, what you see pictured above is the current generation 2009 Lexus GX470. Its successor, the fully redesigned 2010 Lexus GX460, will be revealed as a world premiere at the forthcoming "Auto Guangzhou 2009" (also known as the 7th China International Automobile Exhibition) motor show in China that will he held from November 23 to 30. The 2010 model year GX460 is based on the latest generation Toyota Land Cruiser that made its debut at the Frankfurt Show this past September.

While Lexus has not released any photos of the SUV, the next GX will most likely retain the styling of the 2010 Land Cruiser see in the photos below garnished with a new grille, unique alloy wheels and some minor design changes here and there. The same should apply to the interior as well.

However, as the its name implies, in the U.S., the 2010 Lexus GX460 will get Toyota's new and more powerful 4.6-liter V8, which debuted in the 2010 Tundra pickup truck. This engine makes that 310-horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of torque, will replace the 4.7-liter V8 with 263HP and 323 lb.-ft. found under the hood of the 2009 GX470.

2010 Toyota Mark-X - RWD Mid-Size - Sedan Launched in Japan

A few days before its formal debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Salon, Toyota revealed its new Mark X that has been redesigned for the 2010 model year.

The Mark X is a mid-size sports sedan that shares the same rear-wheel drive platform with the JDM Toyota Crown and Lexus GS models. It is offered in Japan and certain Asian markets. In addition to the refreshed exterior that gains newly styled front and rear ends, Toyota has also updated the interior with a revised instrument panel and center console.

Furthermore, Toyota claims that shoulder portion of the door trim for the front and rear seats has been pushed outward by 25 mm (total for left and right), while the distance between the front seats has been increased by 20 mm, resulting in a roomier interior.

The Mark X is offered in Japan with a choice of two engines, a 2.5-liter V6 that makes 203HP and 24.8 kgm of peak torque, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 318HP and 38.7 kgm. Both engines are coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

The 2.5 V6 model can also be combined with an all-wheel drive system.

Other highlights include a new Radar Cruise Control system, equipped with a brake-control function that can maintain a fixed distance with a car in front, an Adaptive Front-lighting System and the Hill-start Assist Control.

In Japan prices range from 2,380,000 yen for the basic 250G with the 2.5 V6 and rear-wheel drive to 3,800,000 yen for the top-spec 350S L-Package. Buyers can also opt for factory-customized versions of the Mark X.

Toyota Sai - Hybrid Sedan - Based on the Lexus HS 250h - Launched in Japan

Only a few hours after we posted the first brochure shots of the all-new Sai and Toyota officially took the veils off its new hybrid sedan that will make its public outing at this week's Tokyo International Motor Show. Larger and more luxurious than the Prius, the Japanese automaker's second dedicated hybrid car is a sister model to the Lexus HS 250h that recently went on sale in the U.S.

In fact, the two vehicles differ only slightly in appearance with the Sai featuring a new front end design with a unique treatment for the head lamps, bonnet, grille and bumper and different tail lights (even the rear bumper remains the same) and alloy wheel designs.

The reshaped rear side windows and the absence of protective / decorative door trims sum up the exterior revisions over the Lexus HS 250h.

Toyota's designers spent a few more hours -metaphorically speaking- on the Sai's interior as the hybrid model features a new instrument panel and center console design as well as a different steering wheel and less fancy trim than its Lexus counterpart.

There are no hidden surprises under the hood as the Sai features the same gasoline-electric hybrid system as the HS 250h. In other words it's powered by a 2.4-liter Atkinson-cycle VVTi four-cylinder teamed up with an electric motor and a battery pack to achieve a total system output of 190 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive round out the drivetrain.

The new Toyota Sai hybrid sedan is planned to go on sale in Japan on December 7, 2009 with a monthly sales target of 3,000 units.

It will be offered in four trim levels with prices ranging from 3,380,000 yen to 4,260,000 yen ($37,200 to $46,800 US at today's exchange rates). In comparison, the HS 250h is priced in Japan between 3,950,000 and 5,350,000 yen ($43,500 to $58,800). Toyota said it that

Toyota did not say whether the Sai will be available in other markets outside Japan.
